Andrea is a PhD student in the Advanced Spatial Intelligence lab working on geospatial workflows for affordable and efficient flood mapping in urban areas.
Research Focus
Andrea’s dissertation research focuses on developing affordable and automated tools for:
- Image based 3D reconstruction using Structure-from-Motion (SfM)
- Georegistration of SfM point clouds with airborne lidar
- Measuring flood risk characteristics of buildings from street view imagery
- Risk-guided flood segmentation in optical satellite imagery
- Flood mapping with drones using foundation image segmentation models
